The evergreen tree appeared in my dream. In the canon events, (where they're not college students, but are travelers to the end of the world,) Jamun possesses powers relative to water, fertility and greenery. She's known to have a green thumb, and heck-- her dreadlocks can transform into flowery vines when using a certain ability. Jamun's dream was to explore the world, and then rest easy in a place she truly feels like she belongs to. In the dream I saw, Jamun sacrificed herself (against I don't know what) for her friends and natives of the place they were battling against powerful enemies in. The lands they fought were already nothing but ash and dust, a hollow husk of soil compared to the lush forests these wastelands once were. After the battle, she feels her feet rooted deep within the warm, dry earth, and her Jamun lets out a deep sigh. She feels some heaviness in her heart: not the bad, burdening kind, but as if she continued, there'd be no point. She wants to leave something when she leaves this plane of existence, and as if her body signed a contract with that thought, Jamun grew taller, wider, her dark skin turning into the bark of a tree as branches extended from her back. As if embracing the air beneath her, Jamun extended her arms with a content, calm smile on her face, as her hair turned into the many bright leaves of an evergreen, fruit-bearing tree. Her friends are devastated, and for some reason, mostly Ali, but they know this was Jamun's wish all along. It was as if the tree that once was a person smiled at her travel buddies a final time, and the wind howled in her name: "continue this journey without me. I believe in you, my friends."
Dreams involving transformation and nature, especially with a significant symbol like an evergreen tree, often speak to themes of growth, sacrifice, and legacy. In the context of your dream, it may represent the enduring spirit of Jamun and her deep-rooted connection to life and nurturing. 2. **Jamun's Powers and Identity**: Jamun's abilities concerning water, fertility, and greenery highlight themes of nurturing and creation. Her transformation into a tree suggests that her essence and dreams are intertwined with nature. This indicates her desire to contribute positively to her environment and those around her. 3. **Sacrifice**: The act of sacrificing herself in the dream could symbolize the theme of selflessness and the willingness to put others' needs before her own. It may reflect a desire to find greater meaning and purpose in one's actions—creating a legacy that transcends her individual life. 4. **Heaviness in Her Heart**: The heaviness suggests an understanding of the weight of responsibility and the emotional toll of sacrifice. However, it is emphasized as not being a burden, which may indicate acceptance and peace with this choice. It reflects the understanding that her sacrifice is part of something greater than herself. 5. **Transformation**: Jamun's transformation into a tree highlights themes of rebirth and immortality. It suggests that this act of sacrifice allows her to become part of the earth, nurturing the land and her friends even after her physical departure. This reflects the idea that true legacy continues through the impact one has on others. 6. **Friends’ Devastation and Acceptance**: The grief of her friends, particularly Ali, signifies the deep connections and bonds shared.
